This was no easy feat at our event which had an age range of 5 to 80 yrs! Playing the right music is a basic must for any DJ. While my partners wanted an acoustic band for my event, I knew that Patrick Byrd's MC skills would be better than what any band could offer for the Birdneck Fall Festival. He engaged with the crowd and the vendors to provide an eventful afternoon with a mixture of music and announcements that drove a call to action to the vendors and merchants from the festival attendees. Patrick's energy level was over the top, and his sincere interest in motivating sales and playing music that guests enjoyed was beyond expectation!

Patrick Byrd is absolutely amazing! He is the perfect DJ - he worked with my husband and I to develop a song list that fit our preferences, including all the songs that we wanted and having an array of suggestions for all those moments throughout the night! He helped us make our wedding party entrance unforgettable - people cannot stop talking about our performance! He is so incredibly friendly and personable and makes you feel completely comfortable knowing that he will make the night run smoothly! Our wedding started 30 minutes late, but he kept the events going without feeling too rushed. All of our guests enjoyed the selection of music - my friends AND grandmothers could not get off the dance floor :) Him and his wife Launa, our officiant, are the perfect duo to make your wedding day all you could hope for!

We had a blast working with Patrick ( and his lovely wife who was the officiant ) for our clients who got married in VA Beach. Patrick was a great DJ who followed our clients every request and the pre-ceremony, ceremony, dinner, and dancing music was amazing! He helped run the show of the evening and followed our timeline for all of the evenings events! It went off without a hitch! THANK YOU Patrick for everything! Thank God for Patrick! We were coming down to 3 months before the wedding with no DJ. We found Patrick through his wife, Rev. Launa who officated for us. He was more than well prepared. He met with us, learned our style and together we easily made a timeline for the reception. He also provided ceremony music. He had two stations so he didnt have to break down for the ceremony and then waste time setting up for the reception. He worked as our MC and DJ. He got everyone on the dance floor. He also provided special, fun surprises for the bride and groom and guests as well. Lighting was included as well. With Patrick Byrd, you really can make the reception uniquely yours. He incorparted all of our suggestions perfectly. Because of him, our guests will never forget our wedding. He is well worth every penny!
We were married in last April at the Wyndam Hotel in Virginia Beach. We met Launa and Patrick at a wedding show and knew right away they were a perfect match for us. From the very beginning they were personal and paid great attention to detail and were like family to us from the get go. We had so many options and they were so patient with us when we even had to change the date! Their services are so much more than music and a wedding officiant… we also got a wedding planner, song advisor, dress coordinator and best of all new friends. We were given literally any option for music and felt we were in very gentle and capable hands on our biggest day ever. We were so happy and honored that Launa and Patrick were a part of our day, we didn’t realize how incredible it all was until it was all over and thought back and would trust them completely with any event and I don’t say that often.
The music was beautiful and we even received a cd of our wedding for a keepsake. I do remember my dress had a french bustle that after the ceremony I had no idea how to put up as it was quite complex. I had not thought this out when I bought the dress and before I knew it Launa had it buttoned up and looking great for the reception! I can’t say enough good words…if we renew our vows we’d never use anyone else of course. We had a beautiful wedding and owe a lot of that to Launa and Patrick. They are professional, knowledgeable, extremely personable and really know what they are doing! Well Done! Thank You !

Your meticulous planning was at all times geared towards making a smooth and custom-tailored Bar Mitzvah celebration for a boy who never really danced much! Your creativity and willingness to go way into the theme of the party was just what was needed! So when the big day finally arrived, we had an amazing blowout party that let Josh dance and blow off steam from a year's worth of intense Bar Mitzvah preparations! As his mom, I will NEVER forget the sight of Josh coming out of the stage curtain when you introduced him as the guest of honor... what an amazing time we all had. Your prior planning paid off with amazing execution! Thanks again for arranging Virginia Tech's game win against UVA that day ;-)

Launa and Patrick are one of a kind! We were given their names from a friend of ours, we met them and it was love at first site. My husband walked away from the meeting and said that we had to have them (this was rare for him to have such a strong opinion on a wedding vendor). Launa and Patrick were helpful in every way, honest, sincere, and they bent over backwards with our needs.
Launa took every detail of our life together and created a masterpiece of a ceremony. It was breath taking. There are no words to describe the emotions my husband and I felt during that moment. Launa read the ceremony with so much feeling and beauty, every single one of our guests enjoyed the ceremony and thought it was the best one they have ever sat through.
Patrick is remarkable with music and working the crowd/guests. Our goal was to have our guests on the dance floor the entire night, and Patrick made that happen. He was fantastic with keeping with the timeline; he made sure everyone was where they were supposed to be, when they were supposed to be there.
Our wedding was absolutely perfect. We said our vows, we saw our friends and family and we had a great time! Our wedding wouldn’t have been as amazing without Launa and Patrick. They touched our lives and they became dear friends of ours. Thank you very much for everything! We love you!

Scott and I ( and Brianna! ) would like to extend a HUGE thank you to you both for making our day so special. Scott and I had so much fun! Patrick, you rocked up there, and definitely gave the good energy and animation we wanted for the night! I think back to both of my cousin's weddings, and you put their DJ's to shame. Launa, my Mom came up to me later that night and told me how everyone was asking," Where on earth did you find this woman ?!? " The Ceremony was so touching, and it was comforting to know how easily you could make adjustments to Scott's father taking ill and being unavailable for the ceremony. Everyone just raved over how meaningful and touching our ceremony was and how you delivered
it so elegantly. Thank you for making sure everything went smoothly during the reception and putting forth so much energy out there. We will definitely be your biggest advocates should we know of anyone needing a Dj Reception Host or a Wedding Chaplain. I only wish there were more categories to rate the performance of Launa and Patrick. My wife and I had planned a large wedding and ended up canceling because we decided it just didn't fit us. Because we cancelled, we had about 2 months to set things up for our newly agreed upon location, my wife's parents' back yard. Launa was very flexible with the times she was able to meet with us and discuss the details of our ceremony, and when she heard we were having issues with our DJ, she suggested we have a meeting with her fiancee, Patrick Byrd.
We not only loved the way we were able to pick and choose our ceremony's details, but to have a DJ and Officiant who would be working in harmony with each other- that was key. Their communication with us and each other helped tie together the most important day of our lives. On the day of the ceremony, Patrick showed up early to set up his equipment and Launa helped iron out the final details and even helped with our food setup and the decorations. Having them there before the day got going was like having an extra couple of family members along to get things ready- and we knew they'd be on time because they were already there (which helps your peace-of-mind on a day like that).
Patrick was extremely good at his part, and kept things lively and sociable for the guests before and after the ceremony, and played everything we wanted in our ceremony from start to finish. Launa gave us time to regain our composures while she helped us through an emotionally charged and, especially on her part, outstanding delivery of our wedding ceremony.
Both are at once extremely professional and also very friendly and helpful in ways that aren't forced by a contract. They went out of their way to make our day, and we'll be forever thankful to them for guiding us through it all and helping our families enjoy our day. I haven't heard of anyone else who had such help from their Officiant and especially not from a pair who cover the roles of DJ and Officiant. They would be great individually, but together they're the best decision you could make when planning your wedding.

Goodness, there is so much to thank you for and so many happy memories, it is hard to know where to start. Surely you know from my uncle's enthusiasm, and the packed dance floor, that you did a job well done. You snuck in our "geek" songs flawlessly in the dinner set. Also, great instincts! There were some songs like I Am A Rock Ryan and I originally slated for dancing. Very good call to play them at dinner instead. We still got to go up to people and say, " Hey, this song is for you! ", without losing momentum on the dance floor. As far as dancing, I think you architected the sets perfectly. You involved all the varied demographics at the reception - from our neighborhood kids to my Great-Uncle. My brother even
danced, and you got the museum event coordinator with some Violent Femmes! AND, thank you for finding a place and time for The Bloodhound Gang! That was GREAT! I want to thank you for the few times when you told us something wouldn't work. Why? Because when we did pick unusual music, and you said it would work, it DID! We also very much appreciate how you developed the agenda and timeline. That was a load off our minds! I just want to tell you that, after many months, people are STILL talking about how fun our reception was, and what a great job you guys did. You both outdid yourselves! The dance floor was always packed, and everyone had smiles on their faces. Also, the mix tape that you made for our Evolution of Dance was SO AWESOME! We had so much fun with it! May I begin by telling you that my wedding day was the most enjoyable, memorable and loving day of our lives. Our family and friends are still talking about it. And we have you and Launa to thank. You made it that way. You made a day that is normally nerve wracking for the bride a very calm day for me. Everything was planned so well. If there were any "issues" that day, I had no idea.
